FAQs

Divine Tubs LLC
  • How long does it take to refinish a bathtub?

Refinishing a bathtub generally takes between two and three hours, though the exact time depends on the tub's size and current condition. Tubs that were previously refinished or treated with a DIY kit may require additional time to complete.
  • What is the difference between refinishing and reglazing?

There's no practical difference between the two. Bathtub refinishing and reglazing are simply different names for the same restoration process.
  • Is fiberglass tub refinishing possible?

Absolutely. While fiberglass is a softer material compared to porcelain or baked-on enamel, it can be refinished with equally impressive results. We also handle chip repairs and crack fixes for fiberglass bathtubs. Repairing your bathtub is a cost-effective alternative to replacement that takes just a few hours and helps you save money.
  • How long will the refinishing last?

With proper care, your refinished bathtub should last at least 10 to 15 years. To maintain the finish, avoid using abrasive cleaners and scouring pads, which can cause damage. Cleaning regularly with a non-abrasive cleaner and soft cloth will keep your bathtub looking beautiful for many years.
  • I have an old cast iron tub, can it be refinished?

Yes, we refinish all types of bathtubs. Cast iron tubs typically need more extensive preparation and may take additional time to complete. While we're working on your tub, consider having us refinish the wall tiles above your bathtub as well. Our refinishing services extend well beyond just the tub itself.
  • What about shower tile resurfacing?

Yes, Divine Tubs provides shower tile resurfacing. Most wall tile features a ceramic finish that we prepare the same way we handle porcelain. An added benefit is that our coating seals your grout lines, making them much easier to keep clean.
  • What else is cost-effective as a home project?

In addition to bathtub refinishing, we offer resurfacing services for countertops, garden tubs, bathroom sinks, wall tile, shower pans, and shower tiles.
